This flag was donated to the museum in 1989 by an officer of the 152 Parachute Battalion, Captain P.H. Slaughter. Many of the names on the flag were injured or killed at the battle of Sangshak in March 1944.
We believe that the burn marks on the flag are original battle damage, and the parachute symbol is made of real parachute silk. The names may have been sewn on afterwards in memory of the men.
