Captain Thomas Henry Maurice Roseby, the son of Thomas Ernest Roseby and Alice Peirce Roseby, was from Kensington. He was made a 2nd Lieutenant on the 10th of July, 1941.

Roseby was the second in command of C Company, 152 (Indian) Parachute Battalion at the Battle of Sangshak. His Company were ordered to hold Point 7378, the most advanced position of the 50th Parachute Brigade, when the Japanese started to arrive in far greater numbers. Roseby was seriously wounded on the 19th of March 1944. Despite a successful counterattack the following day, the Company position was surrounded and he died the following day, aged 22 years old. Roseby was one of six officers in C Company to die at point 7378, with Lieutenant RH Easton being the only survivor when the withdrawal began at 1015 on 20th March. He was buried along with 12 other men from the same position in a roadside grave which was discovered in April 1947. He and the other men were reinterred at Imphal war cemetery on 16 May 1947.
