Airborne Assault Museum
The Distinguished Service Order (DSO) is a decoration received in recognition of meritous or distinguished service by officers of the armed forces during wartime, usually in actual combat. The order is generally given to officers in command, above the rank of Captain, however the honour has been bestowed upon especially valorous junior officers.
