Dean Owens joined the Junior Parachute Company at Pirbright in May 1988 as a member of 13 Platoon.
He attended Depot Para at Aldershot in 542 Platoon, Passing Out in April 1989.
Pte Owens was posted to 2 PARA, after completing P Coy, and served in The Parachute Regiment until December 1992.
After reaching the rank of Warrant Officer Class I, Dean Owens was granted a commission with the rank of Captain in April 2012.
He has deployed on operations to Bosnia, Afghanistan (2007, 2009) and completed five tours of Northern Ireland. Dean Owens is now serving in the Household Cavalry. He is currently an OC at ATC Pirbright.
