Bdr Leslie Bluer was enlisted into The Royal Artillery and later served with 1st Airlanding Anti-Tank Battery.He volunteered for parachuting and qualified as a parachutist on Course 17 which ran at RAF Ringway from 7 to 12 July 1942.
He later deployed with the Battery on operations to Sicily, Italy and Arnhem, where he was a member of Headquarters Troop and eventually taken as a Prisoner of War.
