Ronald Peter Kent volunteered for The Parachute Regiment in 1943. Private Kent attended parachute training course number 91 at RAF Ringway between 11 - 26 November 1943.Pte Kent was posted to Signals Platoon, 8th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy on 5-6 June 1944.

Pte Kent died on 6 June 1944, aged 24 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
