Steven 'Legs' Lane served with 2 PARA prior to transferring to 9 PARA Sqn RE and then passing selection and joining B Squadron, 22 SAS, as a trooper.He deployed during the first Gulf War as a member of an eight man patrol behind Iraqi lines. The patrol's activities on the operation were subsequently publicised through TV programmes, TV films and several books, including 'Bravo Two Zero', 'The One That Got Away' and 'The Real Bravo Two Zero' .
Trooper Steven Lane died on 27 January 1991 and was posthumously awarded the Military Medal for his actions.
