Alexander McKenzie Elliot was the son of Robert and Davina Elliott, of Smithhills, Bolton, Lancashire.Lieutenant Elliot successfully completed his parachute training on 14 March 1947.

He was posted to the Royal Army Medical Corps depot in Crookham before being attached to 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment to serve in Palestine.

He died on 7 October 1947 and is now buried in Khayat Beach War Cemetery, Israel.
