Ronald Barton was born in Leicester on 26 December 1923.After volunteering for airborne forces, Lance Corporal Barton served with 6 (Airborne) Divisional Provost Company in Palestine.

He was killed on the 9 December 1947 in a terrorist attack on Pine Road, Haifa.

L/Cpl Barton is now buried in Khayat Beach War Cemetery, Israel.
