Private Robert George Barnes was born in London in 1926, and served with 8th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Rhine Crossing, during Op Varsity.Private Barnes died on 24 March 1945, aged 19 years old. He is now buried at Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Kleve, Germany.
