Thomas Strically Dix, son of George and Sarah Eliza Dix, of Quinton, Birmingham, enlisted into the Warwickshire Regiment before volunteering for airborne forces.
After training Private Dix was posted to the 8th (Midland) Parachute Battalion and served in Palestine.
He died on 27 May 1946 aged 22 years and is now buried in Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel.
