Private Dennis Russon was the son of Thomas and Fanny Russon, of Walsall, Staffordshire, and husband of Gwendoline Russon, of Palfrey, Walsall. He served with 8th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord.Private Russon died on 6 June 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Herouvillette New Communal Cemetery, Herouvillette, near Caen.
