The parachute silk scarf is cut from a section of an early X-Type canopy, likely from the operational drop into North Africa as a souvenir.

The Celanese scarf was issued for aerial recognition purposes for Operation Market Garden.

The scarves are part of the collection of The Airborne Assault Museum - Acc No 1996.007.
