In 2026, the model depicting the attack by the 9th Parachute Battalion was retrieved from the reserve Collection. 

It was carefully unpacked and the case opened.  At 40+ years old it required some remedial conservation work to enable it to be sent to the Merville Battery Museum in Normandy as part of the commemorations in June 2026.

Each figurine was removed, the base cleaned and all diorama details checked.  New surface sand was added, and each figure restored and reattached.  The case was also repaired, and a new paint coat applied to create a shadow box effect.

The model was kindly transported to Normandy by RHQ PARA.
