Airborne Assault MuseumMajor-General. Robert Elliott ‘Roy’ Urquhart, commanding 1st Airborne Division, stands outside his headquarters which is located in the Hartenstein, Oosterbeek. Friday, 22nd September 1944. He is stood next to his Divisional pennant and is holding a torch lamp, for use in the cellars where his Command Post is located. Behind him on the stairway support is the white and blue flag denoting the location of the 1st Airborne Divisional Signals.
