Roy Taylor served as No 1 on a GPMG in No 3 Section, Medium Machine Gun Platoon, Support Company of 2 PARA in the Falklands campaign, aged 18 years.After leaving the army Roy joined the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, initially serving at Bracknell (where he acquired the nickname 'Shades') and then Reading stations.
