George Gorse Johnson worked as a cowman when he enlisted into 14th Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment in July 1940.He transferred to the Royal Artillery (RA) and posted to 103 Anti-Tank Regt RA in December 1942.
Gunner Johnson then volunteered for airborne forces and joined the 3rd Air Landing Anti-tank Battery, RA and who he served with form July 1943 until his demob in March 1946.
