Al Pitcher enlisted into the Parachute Regiment in 1978 and passed through Depot in Recruit Platoon 447 on 9 November 1978. Pte Pitcher was posted to 5 Platoon, B Company, 1 PARA.
He served with B Coy, Support Company and C Coy prior to a posting as instructor at Depot in 1987.
Sergeant Pitcher returned to 1 PARA in 1989, this time with A Coy, and left for civvy street in 1991.
