Tom Moorhouse served with 7th (Galloway) Battalion, The King's Own Scottish Borderers as a private in 13 Platoon D Company during World War II.He was wounded during the Battle of Arnhem, taken Prisoner of War and held in captivity until the end of the war.

After the war he served in the Territorial Army and rose to the rank of Sergeant.
