Ivor John Arthur was born in September 1937.Pte Arthur joined Depot in February 1956 and passed Parachute Course 421 at RAF Abingdon in late May 1956. He was posted to the Mortar Platoon, 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (2 PARA) in June 1956, who were sent reinforce the operations against EOKA in Cyprus.
He went on to serve in Op Musketeer in November 1956, and in Jordan two years later.
