Pte Geoffrey Sharpe enlisted into The Border Regiment and later transferred into The Parachute Regiment.He qualified as a military parachutist on Course 153, which ran at RAF Ringway from 12 to 24 February 1945, and subsequently deployed with a battalion in the 5th Parachute Brigade to the Far East.
