Sapper Joseph Henry Cook, son of Richard and Mabel Cook, of North Somercotes, Lincolnshire, served with 4th Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers. He took part in the Italian campaign in 1943.He was killed by mine in the Gioia del Colle area on 17 September 1943, aged 21 years old, and is now buried at Bari War Cemetery.
