Private Cecil Harry Creasy, the son of William and Ethel Creasy, of Framlingham, Suffolk, was initially enlisted into his county regiment.He transferred to the Army Catering Corps in November 1943 and was attached to 156 Parachute Battalion, serving with the Defence Platoon as a cook at Arnhem during Operation Market Garden.
Pte William Creasy died on 25 September 1944, aged 27 years old, and is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
