On 25 April 1946 the Stern Gang carried out an attack on 6 Airborne Division's car park in Tel Aviv and killed seven members of the 5th Scottish Parachute Battalion: Ptes JA Gilliard, Pte J Hope, NE Knight, H Lewis, HS McKay, A Morrison, JH Park.
