Richard Joyce enlisted in April 1956 and completed Parachute Course 426 in August/September 1956. He then served with Drum Platoon, 1 PARA until May 1959. During that time he saw active service in Cyprus.
He is a valued volunteer at the Airborne Assault Museum and can often be seen in the museum answering questions and explaining the exhibits to visitors.
