Allan died after a short illness in Cairo on 1 June 2024. His funeral was attended by Percy Master Chief (Navy) Emir el Khadar, Col. Guirec Fauchon. Cdr. Stephen Forge, Col. Kevin Bertoia and Col. David Kobs. A memorial was also held in the UK.
