After volunteering for airborne forces, Tom Reynolds was posted to 2 (Oban) Airlanding Anti-Tank Battery, Royal Artillery. 

Gunner Reynolds saw action in North Africa, Italy, North West Europe and the Far East. During his time in Italy he was aboard the HMS Abdiel when it struck mines laid by German S-Boats. Reynolds was one of the lucky few who escaped the sinking ship. 

Gnr Reynolds passed away on 8 October 2016.
