Corporal William Cross Livsey, son of Mr and Mrs J Livsey, of Accrington, Lancashire. William joined The Army 20 August 1940. He previously served with Grenadier Guards, before transferring to The 1st Parachute Battalion. He was parachute jump trained at RAF Ringway on Course 3ADV.
He took part in the Italian campaign. Corporal Livsey was killed in action, on 14 July 1943, aged 22 years old. He is now commemorated on Panel 12 of the Memorial at Cassino War Cemetery, Italy.
