Sergeant Thomas Withington, son of John and Martha Alice Withington, of Parkside, Doncaster, Yorkshire, served with 2nd Wing, Glider Pilot Regiment. He took part in the glider insertion to the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Sergeant Withington died on 21 September 1944, aged 30 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
