Peter John Brazier, son of Jonathan and Mabel Brazier, of Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, was granted a commission and then volunteered for airborne forces.
Lieutenant Brazier successfully completed his Glider Pilot training, and was posted to E Squadron, 2nd Wing, The Glider Pilot Regiment, Army Air Corps, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).
Lt Brazier, Mentioned in Despatches, in London Gazette on 8 May 1945, for gallant and distinguished service in North West Europe, was killed in action on 23/24 September 1944, aged 22, and was given a field burial 100 yards north of the Hartenstein Hotel. His remains were reinterred to Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery on 28 July 1945.
