John McCuckin Moore enlisted in the Royal Scots Fusiliers and then volunteered for the airborne forces.
Private Moore attended parachute course 38 at RAF Ringway from 20 November to 1 December 1942 and was then posted to the 1st Battalion, the Parachute Regiment and took part in Operation Torch in North Africa.
Pte Moore was Killed in Action on 10 March 1943, aged 23. He is commemorated on the Medjez-El-Bab memorial.
