Private John Gilmour Gordon, foster son of William and Ann F Gordon, of Glenfarg, Perthshire, served with 1st Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Private Gordon died on 24 September 1944, aged 19 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
