Corporal Jeffries Lacey

Corporal Jeffries Lacey was the son of Samuel and Florence Lacey, of Edwinstone, Nottinghamshire, and husband of H E Lacey. He joined The Army 7 November 1940 and served with The Grenadier Guards before transferring to The Parachute Regiment.

He served with 1st Parachute Battalion and took part in the North African campaign, during Op Torch.

Corporal Lacey was killed in action, during this operation, on 8 March 1943, aged 27 years old. He is now buried at Tabarka Ras Rajel War Cemetery, Tunisia.
