Sergeant Gordon Midgley, son of Charles and Marian Midgley, of Old Trafford, Manchester, served with 2nd Wing, Glider Pilot Regiment. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Sergeant Midgley died during the Battle between 24-25 September 1944, aged 19 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
