Geoffrey Stevens enlisted in Birmingham on the 12 August 1957.
Completed parachute jump training at RAF Abingdon on Course 455, November 1957.
Private G.Stevens was employed as storeman at Aldershot for 4 months , where his Commanding Officer commended him on his qualities of "Loyalty, Reliability, Patience and Accuracy".
Geoffrey was posted overseas with The 1st Para Bn., Parachute Regt . Cyprus 15 June 1958 to 1 March 1959
Awarded GSM with Cyprus Clasp. His Assessment of Military Conduct and Character was "Very Good".
Transfer to Army Reserve 11 August 1960 Exeter on expiration of his period of Army Colour Service. Army Service on date of transfer 2 years 356 days. Expiration of Reserve engagement 11 August 1964. Entered Service as a Police Constable in the County Borough of Dudley till 2 June 1962.
