Private Arthur J M Reid

Arthur John McIntosh Reid enlisted into the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) before volunteering for airborne forces.

Private Reid successfully completed his training at Ringway on course 38 from 20 November to 1 December 1942 and was posted to the 1st Battalion, The Parachute Regiment.

He went with the battalion on Operation Torch in North Africa.

Pte Reid was Killed in Action on 28 March 1943, at Djebel Abiod. Initally given a field burial, he re-interred in Beja War Cemetery, Tunisia, on 25 February 1944.
