Staff Sergeant Leslie Winsper, husband of Irene Maud Winsper, served with 20 Flight, B Squadron of 1st Wing, Glider Pilot Regiment.
He became a qualified pilot after completing Course 20 at the No 3 EFTS at Stoke Orchard in June 1943.
Staff Sergeant Winsper took part in the glider insertion to the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Staff Sergeant Winsper died of wounds on 9 December 1944, aged 27 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
