Private John Howes, son of Henry and Mary Howes, of West Kensington, London, served with 1st Parachute Battalion. He took part in the North African campaign, during Op Torch.
Private Howes died on 5 February 1943, aged 22 years old. He is now buried at Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.
