Sergeant Christopher Baxter was the son of Christopher and Nellie Gertrude Baxter, of South Tottenham, Middlesex, and the husband of Edith Victoria Baxter, of Tonypandy, Glamorgan. He served with 1st Parachute Battalion and took part in the North African campaign.
Sergeant Baxter died on 28 March 1943, aged 23 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.
He younger brother Edwin Baxter, also a Sergeant with 1st Battalion, died in December 1942, and is also commemorated on the same Memorial.
