Alan Keith Millington, of Hawarden, Chester, served with The 1st Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (1 PARA) and took part in the deployment to Cyprus during the EOKA campaign in 1956.
Private Millington died on 10 June 1956, aged just 18 years old. He was killed in an accident in the Troodos Mountains in Cyprus in June 1956. The Battalion was taking part in Operation Lucky Alphonse in the vicinity of Kykko Monastery. He died along with two other members of 1 PARA when a lorry they were travelling in on a short leave detail went off the mountain road and into a ravine.
He is now buried at Waynes Keep Cemetery, Cyprus.
