Private Edward John Brooks served with 1st Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (1 PARA) in the Medium Machine Gun Platoon (MMG)s, Support Coy under Platoon Commander Cpt Froud.
Pte Brooks died when he was travelling in a 3-ton Truck which left the road in the Kyrenia Mountains, Cyprus. As Les Banks remembers 'He was a nice lad who was deeply missed by the whole of Support Company.'
Private Brooks died on 10 June 1956, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Waynes Keep Cemetery, Cyprus.
