Percy Pemberton Turvey was the son of Percy Pemberton and Alice Mary (Thould) Turvey; husband of Cicely Veronica (Hall) Turvey, of Bretforton, Worcestershire. Married June 1942, Evesham. He enlisted in the Worcestershire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.
Staff Sergeant Turvey successfully completed glider pilot training and was posted to 1st Wing, Glider Pilot Regiment, Army Air Corps. He took part in Operation Mallard which was a part of Operation Overlord (D day landings).
S/Sgt Turvey was killed in action on 6 June 1944, aged 24, and is commemorated on the Bayeux Memorial to the missing.
