Sergeant Arnold 'Arnie' Phillips served with Airborne Forces as part of the Glider Pilot Regiment, and died during the Battle of Arnhem.
Arnold Phillips, son of Arnold and Frances Ann Phillips, of Sheffield, joined the Glider Pilot Regiment as a volunteer from the Royal Signals.
In September 1944, he was part of 10 Flight, G Squadron, Glider Pilot Regiment and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Sergeant Phillips died on 25 September 1944, aged 21 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
