Ronald J M Finch was a member 8^th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion A Coy, 4 Pln. He was successfully passed his parachute jump qualification at RAF Ringway, on course 79. This course ran between 23 August and 2 Sept 1943. His instructor noted that he was  “Keen confident type. Did well”

Whilst serving in Normandy he was captured and taken as a POW. His POW number was 70250

On 17 November 1945 Ronald returned to his parent unit, The Northamptonshire Regiment.
