The Welbike Airborne Motorcycle, a considerably smaller version than the motorcycles designed for glider borne and full parachute-drop capability, was used during the Second World War. Gen. Sir Hugh Stockwell was often see riding around the Academy on one. Complete with a '2 Star' number plates.
It was designed to fit in the Container Light Equipment, the handle bars folding flat, and seat retracting down level with the fuel tank. The post-war civilian version was produced by Corgi.
