Lieutenant George Dwyer from Manchester served with 2nd/3rd Parachute Battalion in Palestine.Lt Dwyer died of wounds received in an Arab ambush in Acre on 6 January 1948, aged 45 years old. He is now buried in Haifa War Cemetery, Palestine.
