Donald Anthony Wann joined the Royal Engineers in 1942, and volunteered for airborne forces in Nov 1942. He was posted to 9th (Airborne) Field Company HQ RE.

Sapper Wann then joined 9th Airborne Squadron Royal Engineers in 1945, ending his service in 1947 in Palestine.
