Douglas Gordon Cass joined the Army 18 July 1940. He transferred to the airborne forces from Grenadier Guards.
He was at first jump trained sometime in 1940/41 as a member of 11 SAS, before attending Advanced Course 3 at RAF Ringway, which ran between 21 and 29 January 1942. Douglas then became a member of The 1st Parachute Bn, T Coy, 10 Pln.
Records suggest that he served in N. Africa with Lt Kellas' Platoon. Douglas joined the Reserves 17 July 1946.
