Stephen M Oborne enlisted into the Army 15 November 1939. He volunteered for the airborne forces from The RAC. 

He was jump trained sometime in 1940/41 and was posted to 11 SAS, U Coy which later became The 1st Parachute Battalion. He was a member of T Coy, 11 Pln. 

On 3 February 1943 he was wounded in action whilst serving in N.Africa. 

Stephen joined the Reserves 29 December 1945.
