William George Jones was the son of William and Sarah Jones, of Welshpool, Montgomeryshire; husband of Margaret Ann Jones, of Welshpool.After volunteering for airborne forces, Corporal Jones served with 63 (Airborne) Composite Company, Royal Army Service Corps.

He was killed on 16 April 1945 and is now buried in Hanover War Cemetery, Germany.
